  • Give2theTroops (2 teams)- An organization that collects items to send to troops around the world which are shopped to every branch of the service.

  • Little Willie Center- (unsure) Little Willie Center provides a safe and healthy environment for latchkey and at-risk youth ages 3-17 years of age.

  • HB Sugg PTA (1 team)- Farmville Elementary School Parent/ Teacher Association works to improve school environment and is currently working to fund a school playground.

  • Vegetarians in Pitt County (2 teams)- Meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 5pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Greenville for a covered-dish dinner and social. Promotes the healthful, environmental, and ethical benefits of vegetarianism.

  • Building Hope Community Life Center (unsure)

    • Projects: Especially for education majors or 1100 students who worked there last semester, develop and implement enrichment program workshops (acting, reading, writing, holiday-themed, etc.) for first, second, or third grade after-school classes. Your instructor will be glad to help you organize and implement your program.

You are welcome to use the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center's Guide to Service Opportunities to request other community partners, but I am requesting that you work with at least one other classmate as a partner. There will also be an opportunity on to meet with additional community partners, and some of those listed above, at the Volunteer and Service Learning Community Partner Fair on Wednesday, January 30, 12:30 - 2:30 pm in the Bate Building Lobby. Local non-profit agency representatives will be on hand to discuss their service needs and mission of their organizations. Don't miss out!
