For the ethnography you are working on, your purpose is to adopt the voice of an ehtnographer to document the subculture of your community partner organization.

For your traditional research essay, however, you have full reign to choose your purpose and role. Using the yellow chart on page 33, think about what role you are going to adopt. Then flip to pgs. 36-37 to review the phrasing of multiple research questions. In your daybook, reflect on the purpose/role you are thinking of adopting, then play with phrasing your reseach question so you can acheive that purpose. Using the categories, generate multiple questions, but put a star beside the one you like best.
