Day 2 (January 14, 2008)This is a featured page

As you watch this video, think about how web technologies have impacted the classroom. How are writing, learning, and researching influenced by web technologies? If you've used the Blackboard interface before, how does this wiki site differ? What are the advantages or disadvantages? Do you perceive your role as a student differently in this class because of the wiki site? How? In your daybook, reflect on the video and these questions.

With today's web technologies it is so much easier to do research than it use to be. It's easier to get on the web and search than it is having to go to the library and look through books. Its easier to find information online. A disadvantage of that is its hard to tell where information is true or false. I think that this wiki site is better than blackboard. It's more interesting and it's fun. On blackboard you can post responses but no one ever does. On here a lot of people contribute. I'm looking forward to being able to use this wiki site more.

With all the information available online everything one may need is at their fingertips. You no longer have to use a card catalog in a library, all you need are basic computer skills, and access to the internet. I have used blackboard before and I like all the features about it except having to turn assignments in online..... I would rather hand in a hard copy myself, but I guess in todays world the electronic age is the future.
