Using Box 8 on page 107 in Fieldworking, comb through your fieldnotes and start drafting your enthnography by responding to the questions.

25 minutes (reading)
Re-read pages 143-145 in Fieldworking. Consider what you will choose as an artifact from your service-learning site. Start reading Chapter 5 in Fieldworking, p. 237-306. This chapter is important for all of you as all student researchers must conduct at least one interview and especially important for those of you who are collecting oral histories and family stories (Building Hope, Red Oak, and Oak Haven.)

I haven't taken any fieldnotes yet because our volunteering hasn't actually started but, I can write about what I expect to see. The Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children has like this little kids office inside the big office. It's like a space for kids to go when their parents come in to meet with one of the employees to discuss whatever it is they need to discuss. It has books galore and toys and everything a child could possibly imagine. Well, not everything but it's a neat little area with things to keep the children occupied while their parents are busy. Melissa, she's our S-L director, she has her own intern. So whenever melissa needs to send out an e-mail she usually does it for her unless we have a question specifically for Melissa then she replies to the e-mails herself. April, 5 is when we actually get involved with the KidsFest, which is an event that been sponsored I'm guessing for a long time. It's directed to kids ages birth-5 yrs but anyone is welcome to attend. I know there is going to be clowns at this event and horses, fire engines, police cars, face painters and hopefully food vendors!! There is going to be a train ride and of course super excited hyper children. At the end of the day I'm probably going to be tired of children!
Do you find this valuable?
