Revise your fieldnotes from Monday's Observation at the campus mall, following the student model on pp. 98-100 in Fieldworking. Quiet your mind and recollect the scene. What details can you add? What responses come to mind? Carefully sort out your observations (information) and reflections (personal responses) so that the left colunm lists specific details of the scene and the right column contains reflections, interpretations, meanings, questions, random associations, and personal comments. For additional genre samples, see my fieldnotes attached below.

Read Chapters 1 & 2 in The Bedford Researcher. In your daybook, reflect on the research and writing you are being asked to do this semester to create an MGRP. You may want to review the MGRP Guidelines again. How will you manage time and information? What are your purposes as a researcher? What are the requirements and limitations? What topics associated with your service-learning community could you research? What interests you personally about that community?
