I figured that based of how the person I based the activity on was dressed, that he was respectable and that he made a good amount of money. I could tell that he was a Christian b/c I saw the Bible in the room. I was not surprised that he was African American b/c it was a community center located in the Mostly black area of school. I was not surprised b/c prior to going in, I had established a relationship with the person. My neighbors had more
M & M's than me, and I figured that there person was most likely white. I think that this was a good oppurtunity to bring the thought of earned and unearned goals to real life situations. It forces us to look at things such as race, religion and other things and connect them to our service learning project and other volunteer situations.
