A multi-genre research portfolio (MGRP) allows writers to experiment with form and language, push the boundaries of composition, and make meaning out of their research experiences. In the multi-genre project, you will research as you would for a traditional research essay, but your writing will consist of a number alternative writings in various genres that is creative, yet based on factual research. Although each piece included in the portfolio should stand on its own, the compositions should be connected by a theme, thread, or general idea that emerges from the research.
