Service Learning Project
Group Name: Rocking Horse Group
Group Members: Kirstie Miller, Lisa Benton, Denise Wall

1. Appoint a "scribe". Kirstie Miller

2. What are the ground rules. Aim for 10. Show up for all meetings, Work Cooperatively, Be dressed appropriately, Be positive, Be on time, Have fun, Be respectful, Be prepared, Don’t be selfish.

3. How can we best support each other? Use supportive criticism

4. How can we best serve our agency? Understand that we are here to help them and we should be open-minded about everything.

5. Wants? We just want to be helpful and produce a beneficial writing assignment for both the group and the community partner.

6. Pet Peeves? Arguing, not working, not showing up for meetings.

7. How will you deal with conflict? Unmet expectations? How do we deal with members who don't participate enough, participate too much, or distract the group from its task? Members who are causing too much conflict will be asked to leave this group if they do not change their attitude after a warning.

8. Rules about multi-tasking? Everyone works at a different pace so be mindful that if you finish your part it is helpful to ask another group member if they need you.

9. How are we going to make decisions? The group will make decisions based on a majority rules agreement.

10. Who will we elect as team captain? Denise Wall

11. How often, when, and where will we meet? Meetings are set for Fridays after 1:00pm and will be scheduled as often as needed.

12. How will we contact each other? Be specific. Text messages will be the most effective form of communication. E-mail will be used for less urgent situations.

13. When are you available to meet with the community partner to sign the project contract? List all times you are available M-F from 9am until 4:30pm. All group members are available on Fridays from 1:00-4:30pm.

14. Look at your community partner's project needs. What particular skills/ experience does each group member have that would help in meeting those needs? Each group member needs to understand the importance of patience. We will need to go through and orientation/training session before we begin working with our community partner and even if we have previous knowledge of what they are teaching us we have to understand that we do not know everything.
