Volunteer Fair
The Volunteer & Service-Learning Center will be hosting the
2008 Spring Service Fair
Wednesday, January 30 in the Bate Building Lobby from 12:30 -2:30 pm.
This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about local agencies and speak to their representatives regarding volunteer and service-learning opportunities. Remember to let them know that you are a student in West-Puckett's English 1200 class, and (if we have not previously contacted them) to ask if the organization has opportunities for you to observe and interview (events, fundraisers, meetings, direct service, etc.) and canengage you in research and/or writing activities. Also let them know if you would like to particpate in direct contact service hours.
If you know you want to serve with an agency, tell the representative that you and your group will contact them later in the week to set up a meeting. We'll compose an introductory e-mail in class on Friday to send to your organizations.
