Building Hope

So I finally got to see Building Hope yesterday and I have to say that my worries about doing this assignment is somewhat relieved a little. Just because it took so long to finally get out there and see what was in store for me as the rest of the semester proceeds.
Surprises? I think this whole service learning is a surprise. I didn't expect this out of an English class. The place was very enthusiastic. I was watching the children come and go, running around playing and having a good time at this center. I'm eager to help out and give back to the community. At the moment, I hope the restaurants will donate. I think they would really enjoy telling stories and having a good meal.
Intrigued? Yes, I found it intriguing... I want to know the students there more. I don't believe we were really introduced to the staff. Next week maybe, I would like to know who to talk to in case of an emergency. I did talk to one little girl, and she was so sweet. A little shy but I'm sure she'll open up and talk to us more.
Disturbed? Not really. There are a lot of ECU students there than what I expected... I forgot about the other class. Just all hope we get along. I know my group are all fine, but the ideas of one group on how things are done maybe different from how the other group thinks.
Do you find this valuable?
